Lana Del Rey has been working on her follow up album in Santa Monica, California. The glamorous and classy songstress currently lives in the United Kingdom but came to the states to find inspiration in recording her new music. She told Idolator, “[I] moved on to a more spiritual place lyrically. I have a song called ‘Black Beauty’ and I’ve already talked to people about making it” Some of Rey’s music was leaked today and can be found on SoundCloud.
According to Mstars the singles “Maha Maha,” “Golden Grill,” “Television Heaven,” and “Catch & Release” were recorded as far back as 2010 are now available for her fans to hear and enjoy.
The song “Maha Maha” has a tribal beat and a Middle Eastern influence. It still maintains Rey’s flawless voice even through her high pitched chanting.
Fashion&Style reports that “Maha Maha” is Rey’s favorite track.
“Golden Grill” has an Old Hollywood classic vibe that provides a cinematic experience with Rey’s dreary vocals. “Television Heaven” takes a more mainstream approach with its catchy pop sound. Rey sings about spending time with her lover, “There’s nowhere on this Earth I’d rather be/ But in your bedroom/ The way you’re smiling it’s so deadly/Honey, you are heavenly/ Te-television heaven with you!” The last single, “Catch and Release” has a darker and edgier sound that melds perfectly with Rey’s dreamy voice.
