British police have arrested two new suspects in the fatal attack on off-duty British soldier Lee Rigby. The arrests were publicized by Scotland Yard early Thursday afternoon. The bizarre killing took place on a busy street in the Woolwich district of London on Wednesday.
Information is scarce on the new suspects, who have not yet been identified. It is known that they are a man and woman both aged 29. According to the Los Angeles Times,they were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder, but their connection to the crime is unknown.
These arrests bring the total of suspects in custody to four. The alleged attackers were taken into custody Wednesday after being wounded by police. One of the men has been identified as Michael Adebolajo, a 28-year-old British citizen of Nigerian descent who had converted to Islam.
