Singer Kris Allen and pregnant wife injured in car accident

American Idol's Kris Allen and his pregnant wife Katy were injured in a head-on collision New Year's Day.

The couple's dog, Zorro, was in the car with them as well but Allen's mother, Kimberly Allen, revealed via Twitter that all three of them were safe after the accident.

"Kristopher and Katy are both pretty beat up but ALIVE! Thank you Jesus! They are setting his arm now and will have surgery tomorrow. Zorro is fine, too! Very shook up, but not injured," the singer's mother tweeted.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Allen is supposed to begin his "Out Alive" tour this month. But he informed his fans that the accident won't prevent the tour from happening.

"Don't worry everyone I may have broken my wrist but the #OutAliveTour is still on," Allen tweeted.

The singer also revealed that he and his wife are expecting their first child together and was thankful for the Ford car they were driving that kept his family safe.

"Thank you @ford for equipping me with a car that kept my whole family @katyallen @ZorroPup and the little one we have on the way safe," Allen tweeted.
