Ben Affleck has reportedly dropped out of the upcoming Warner Bros. film Focus due to an increasingly busy schedule.
Kristen Stewart recently confirmed that she would be starring in the film telling The Huffington Post, "It's a comedy. I'm really excited about it. We start shooting in April."
Affleck was set to play Stewart's love interest, but according to Variety's sources, even though he very much wanted to do the film, the timing just couldn't be worked out for Affleck.
He does have some work ahead for him. Affleck is writing, directing, producing and starring in Live by Night, and is in development on The Stand as well as the untitled Whitey Bulger project. He is also busy promoting his film Argo for the award season.
Since Focus was set to start shooting in April, it just didn't fit into Affleck's schedule. Warner Bros. is now in search of his replacement.
The film is about an inexperienced con artist, played by Stewart, who becomes romantically involved with a veteran in the trade, previously set to be played by Affleck.
Focus is written and directed by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, known for Crazy, Stupid, Love, and does not have a release date yet.
