In a very political statement about the American newspaper industry Clark Kent, aka Superman, has quit his job at the Daily Planet after a disagreement with his boss over content.

In Superman, issue 13, Kent quits the job he's had since 1940. According to the LA Times, it seems he argued with his publisher Perry White about writing puff pieces for the public instead of hard-hitting news. He also has a bout with Lois Lane for bending to corporate and writing about a sex scandal.
Scott Lobdell, told USA Today -
This is really what happens when a 27-year-old guy is behind a desk and he has to take instruction from a larger conglomerate with concerns that aren’t really his own. Superman is arguably the most powerful person on the planet, but how long can he sit at his desk with someone breathing down his neck and treating him like the least important person in the world?
Issue 13 also has a lead into a a new Kryptonian threat M'al, who Superman crosses in the next comic book. Issue 14, “H’el on Earth,” will also work into crossover series of Superboy and Supergirl.
And a juicy tidbit for anyone who hasn't caught DC's New 52 reboot, which rewrote superhero back stories, Superman is no longer with Lois Lane, he's hooked up with Wonder Woman.
